Local 1995 Bargaining Update: Tentative Agreement Reached, Recommending Acceptance: Information/Ratification Vote Scheduled

Dear member of Local 1995,

Your Bargaining Committee met with a conciliator on May 15th, but despite our best efforts, we were not able to conclude a collective agreement at that time. Discussion continued in the weeks and months following and with the assistance of the Conciliation Officer we are pleased to inform the membership that we have reached a tentative agreement with your employer.

Your Bargaining Committee is meeting with NSGEU staff on Friday, August 29th to review and finalize the details of the tentative agreement package.

Your Bargaining Committee is recommending acceptance of the agreement.

An information session and ratification vote has been scheduled for:

When: Monday, September 29th, 2014

Times: 3-5pm and 7-9pm

Where: Grand Lake Road Fire Hall, 866 Grand Lake Rd, Sydney, NS (Suite 15 – Classroom)

At these sessions you will have the opportunity to pose any questions you may have and cast your ballot. A complete package of the settlement terms and voting information will be mailed to you for your review prior to the ratification vote.
