Local 20 – Hearing & Speech Nova Scotia Tentative Agreement Ratified

We are pleased to report that your Local has voted 90.8 per cent to accept the tentative agreement reached with your employer, as recommended by your bargaining committee.

Your committee appreciates the support and solidarity you have shown throughout this difficult and prolonged round of negotiations.

This deal, which will expire March 31, 2024, will ensure members at Hearing and Speech Nova Scotia receive the exact same three-year wage pattern as NSGEU members in Nursing, Health Care and Civil Service among others.

The Hearing and Speech Bargaining unit can now await the outcome of collective bargaining for larger groups who will establish wage patterns for the next two or three years. NSGEU hopes those tables will be resolved over the next 12 months. It is the union’s plan to then proceed back to the table as quickly as possible with Hearing and Speech.

As soon as we receive information from the employer on the timeline for disbursement of retro pay, we will share this information with you.

If you have any questions or concerns about this round of bargaining, please contact the NSGEU or a member of your committee:
