Day of Action Monday, September 25th: Show Your Support for Health Admin!
Thousands of health care administrative professionals have been trying to get a fair deal with government and their employers at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health Centre. Their contract expired almost three years ago, and the employers and government have offered these workers a deal that amounts to a wage decrease, while other groups of health care workers have been offered much more. Members of this bargaining unit earn as little as $20 per hour – well below the living wage estimates that were recently released.
Meanwhile, Tim Houston’s government has been boasting about $2 billion in unexpected revenues, while they allow these workers to remain among the lowest paid health care workers in Atlantic Canada. It just isn’t right.
We’re asking you to show your support for your fellow union members in a few different ways.
1. Wear red! Members of this bargaining unit will be wearing red to show how mad they are at their employers and government for the way they’ve been treated during this round of bargaining.
2. We are holding a Day of Action on Monday, September 25th, with in-person pickets being held at 11 different locations between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. If you are in the area of one of these pickets, please join us:

Solidarity!
