Civil Service Bargaining Update – March 21, 2013

As was reported recently, an impasse occurred at Civil Service negotiations on March 4, 2013, when the employer tabled a final offer that was insufficient for the Union Negotiating Committee (UNC) to recommend acceptance of to the Bargaining Unit Negotiating Council (BUNC) and members.

BUNC will be meeting on March 25, 2013, at which time they will evaluate the employer’s March 4, 2013 offer and decide on what recommendation will be made to the membership when they vote on the offer in the next few weeks.

At this point, UNC will be recommending to BUNC that the employer’s existing offer be rejected. We are hopeful, however, that the employer will improve their final offer prior to a vote by the membership.
