Local 43 – Canadian Blood Service Conciliation Scheduled

Dear members,

This email is to advise you that conciliation with your employer is scheduled for June 27th and 28th.

Please stay tuned for further updates after this conciliation date.

What is Conciliation? Conciliation is a requirement under the Nova Scotia Trade Union Act that takes place when regular negotiations fail to reach an agreement. Either party may apply to the Minister of Labour and Advanced Education requesting the services of a Conciliation Officer. The Conciliation Officer does not have the power to impose a settlement on either party. Instead, their role is to mediate between the parties and help them reach an agreement. We are committed to reaching a tentative agreement that your bargaining committee can recommend to you.

If you have any questions about the process or the steps to come, please contact a member of your bargaining committee or the NSGEU by calling 902-424-4063 (toll-free 1-877-556-7438) or emailing inquiry@nsgeu.ca

Bargaining committee:

Carol Anne Jennings, caj_hfx@hotmail.com

Mary Otto, maryeotto@gmail.com

Brandon Rose, ERO, brose@nsgeu.ca

Shawn Fuller, Director of Negotiations & Servicing, sfuller@nsgeu.ca
