Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial Day – Sunday, Sept. 27

The Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial Day pays tribute to the fallen peace officers who have been killed in the performance of their duties.

On the last Sunday in September each year, a Memorial Service is held on Parliament Hill honouring both fallen peace and police officers. This year, the Memorial took place on Sunday, September 28.
The NSGEU represents a variety of members who are police, or peace officers including members of Local 1995, Cape Breton Regional Police, Local 480, Correctional Officers, as well as Deputy Sheriffs and Conservation Officers in the Civil Service.

We take this time to thank them for their service and honour those who have been killed while serving the public.
