Celebrate Pride Week with the NSGEU in Halifax and Sydney.

Dear NSGEU members:

NSGEU’s Human Rights Committee is inviting you to participate in the annual Pride Parade and float decoration on Friday and Saturday, July 24 & 25 in Halifax and the Pride Parade on Saturday, August 8 in Sydney.  The parade is one of many events that take place during Pride Week in Halifax and Sydney. Click here for more information about Halifax Pride Week. Click here for more information about Pride Week in Cape Breton

The Nova Scotia Federation of Labour is the overall sponsor of the float and is inviting all affiliates to participate in the float building and decorating in Halifax.

“The Pride Parade is an opportunity for NSGEU members to come together with other unions in support of diversity and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex issues,” says Tammy Gillis, Chair of NSGEU’s Human Rights Committee.

In Halifax: We will be decorating the float on the morning of July 25th at 10am at the Parade starting area where Upper Water Street meets Cornwallis Street (CFB Halifax Parking lot on Valour Way).

If you are interested in building the frame of the float, people are meeting at 677 Lucasville Rd., in Lucusville, on Friday July 24, 2015 at 7 pm.  All are welcome to assist.  No drill or saw refused!

The parade begins in Halifax on Saturday, July 25 at 1 p.m.

The parade begins in Sydney on Saturday, August 8 at 12 p.m.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you there!

In Solidarity,

NSGEU’s Human Rights Committee
