Sherbrooke Village Employees Rally for a Fair Contract
Employees at Sherbrooke Village, (members of Local 50), will be holding a rally in support of their Bargaining Committee and their efforts to negotiate a fair agreement with their Employer. They head into conciliation on Friday, Sept. 4.
Place: Gate to Sherbrooke Village, 42 Main St., Sherbrooke, Guysborough County
Date: Wednesday, Sept. 2
Time: 5 – 6 p.m.
In August, members voted 85% in favour of a strike. The Employer has been dragging out negotiations for over three years.
Employees at Sherbrooke Village already make less than their counterparts who work in other museums throughout the province, and are asking for a fair wage increase so they do not fall further behind.
Joan Jessome, President of the NSGEU will be at the rally and available for interviews.
