Davis Day 100th Anniversary

This Wednesday, June 11, 2025, is the 100th anniversary of Davis Day. The NSGEU encourages all members and community allies to join in remembering William Davis, a coal miner tragically killed in 1925 during a strike for better working conditions and fair wages in New Waterford. His death ignited a crucial turning point in Nova Scotia’s labour movement.

NSGEU 1st Vice President Hugh Gillis and 2nd Vice President Tammy Gillis will be in attendance in New Waterford.
