Home Care and Long Term Care Update
Having received no response from the Premier, Minister of Health and Wellness and Minister of Seniors and Long Term Care, your Union has once again sent a request for a meeting. In two previous letters an invitation was extended to Minister Barbara Adams to meet with the NSGEU Occupational Councils for Home Care and Long Term Care and that invitation was once again extended to the Minister and shared with all members of the Legislature. A copy of the letter can be seen by clicking here: https://nsgeu.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/2022-01-27-minister-adams-long-term-home-care.pdf
As an opposition member Minister Adams was a strong advocate for the issues facing all of you working in Home Care and Long-Term Care.
I am convinced that the Minister, the Department and the clients would benefit greatly from a face to face discussion taking place.
We will share the Minister’s response and hopefully be able to schedule dates.
In solidarity,
Jason MacLean
NSGEU President
